Rayna's BFF

I knew one of the things that would be challenging with staying at home with Rayna would be exposing her to other kids her age on a regular basis. Fortunately, I've been lucky in that our next door neighbors watch their granddaughter, Syndey, who is 2 years old. It's been so much fun watching them play and grow together this summer. Their personalities are very similar yet different at the same time. And with Sydney being almost a year older, she's doing things that Rayna tries desperately to keep up with. Rayna has always been a bit reserved around other kids, but after spending time with Sydney, I've seen a difference in how she plays with other kids. It still takes her a while to warm up, but she's more adventurous and not so quick to run to Momma. That was especially evident last weekend when she had the chance to play with her 2-year-old cousins from Connecticut. I thought she'd be shy and hiding behind me the entire time but she was actually really social and had a great time. It definitely helped that they had just about every kind of outdoor toy you can imagine!
